Riverside pub has new look

A riverside pub is due to re-open today after a £600,000 redevelopment.
The Riverside, Farndon, formerly the Britannia, has a 50-seat bar area serving cask ales, and a separate restaurant dining area that seats 60.
The owners, Punch Taverns, worked with the licensees, Mr James Bull and Mr Ross Tunaley, of Distinctive Inns, in a joint investment project.
Mr Bull said the interior was open plan but they had retained the pub’s character with traditional beamed ceilings and open fires.
Villagers and special guests attended a VIP preview night on Thursday.
