A617 closed between Cattle Market Roundabout, Newark, and Kelham due to flooding

The police have closed the A617 between the cattle market roundabout at Newark and the Kelham Fox pub at Kelham because of flooding.

It was closed during the night in the early hours.

Police say the flood water has risen even more overnight and the road is likely to remain closed through rush hour.

A spokesman said: "We will reopen the road as soon as soon as it is safe to do so. Please check your journey before the morning commute."
