Great North Road, Newark, to be closed overnight at level crossing for Network Rail testing




A main access road to the town is to be closed overnight on Sunday (October 27).

Great North Road will be closed at Newark Castle level crossing, for Network Rail teams to carry out annual level crossing testing.

The closure will be in place from 11.30pm on Sunday, to 5am on Monday (October 28).

No train services will be affected, and pedestrian access will remain.

The testing allows Network Rail’s level crossing managers to check for any defects that may pose a risk to users, trains or vehicles passing over the crossing.
