Robert Jenrick 'delighted' at announcement of Prime Minister

Robert Jenrick MP has told the Advertiser he is "delighted" at the announcement of the new Prime Minister.

The Newark MP announced his support for Boris Johnson within the last few weeks during leadership campaigning.

Robert said he hopes to deliver the "positive policies" proposed by Boris Johnson.

"I'm delighted Boris Johnson has won with a commanding mandate from the party membership," said Robert. "Now we must unite the party and the country to deliver Brexit on October 31 and then the positive policies he has campaigned on."

He added: "From levelling up education funding, investing in the infrastructure of the Midlands and the north and keeping our streets safe with more police. Boris will bring optimism and confidence back to the country at last."
