Newark Round Table event sees members participate in Taskmaster TV show type challenges
Members of the Newark and District Round Table met to take part in a Taskmaster night which was inspired by the TV show of the same name.
Hosted by Daniel Otton, participants took place in several contests including making a mask out of pita bread, a memory game and a throwing challenge.
“We usually meet twice a month and do a range of activities from archery, paddle boarding, banger racing and foot golf,” said Daniel who has been a member of six years.
“We also do events for local charities and good causes.”
Daniel said that the Newark and District Roundtable has been in existence for 75 years and forms part of an international non-political and non-religious organisation.
Anyone interested in joining the group can email chairman@newarkroundtable.co.uk
“We’ve had a period of transition where older members have taken a step back but we are pleased with the guys that have joined recently and contributed to the success of the Santa Sleigh where we’ve managed to increase our funds raised by almost 100%.
“The Round Table are a group for guys between 18-45 years old and we find people join to expand their social circle, do stuff which they wouldn’t normally do and give back to the community while being part of a great network.
“It gives guys something different and interesting to do and to meet new people.
“We would like to give a shout-out that the Newark Duck Race takes place on March 24, and you can still get your ducks to raise funds for Children’s Bereavement Centre.”
