RSPCA thanks Newark community for donations after car crashed into charity shop

The RSPCA thanked the community for generous donations to help the Newark charity shop get back on its feet after a car crashed into it.

Tracy Evans, of the Albert Street shop, said: “On behalf of everyone at the Notts East Branch of the RSPCA, I’d like to thank the local community for their generous donations and kind offers of assistance after the devastating crash that forced the Newark shop to close before Christmas.

“It has been a terrible blow to all involved and in particular our animal welfare work in the area.

“We are a separately registered charity to the national RSPCA and rely heavily on the shop to raise funds to assist the local community in and around Newark.

“Individual donations, as well as those from Travel Wright and Total Reclaims Demolition, are very much appreciated and will be a big help in getting us back on our feet.

“Unfortunately the shop won’t be open again for some time so we cannot take in any donated goods until then.”
