A plucky sales assistant is now smooth-skinned after his legs were waxed for charity.

Mr Daniel Caldwell-Jones, 24, of Hawton Lane, Balderton, raised money for Macmillan Cancer Support as 40 strips were used to remove the hair on his legs.

Macmillan is the chosen charity for Argos this year, and Mr Caldwell-Jones stepped in for another colleague who had originally planned the waxing.

"I have never had them waxed before but it is for a good cause," Mr Caldwell-Jones said.

"I've only shaved my face before. It wasn't actually as painful as I thought it would be, it just tingled when the strips were pulled off.

"I was imagining it to be more painful."

The waxing, which was carried out by co-worker Coral Gill, 22, happened in the corner of the store while customers shopped.

Mr Caldwell-Jones raised £60.60 during the half-hour it took to wax his legs.
