Salvation Army Toy Run route through Bleasby, Fiskerton, Rolleston and Averham tweaked to include Southwell

We may just be into mid September and it seems early to mention ‘the C word’, but plans are already underway for this year’s Christmas Toy Run.

Now in its 15th year, the Salvation Army Toy Run is scheduled to take place on Sunday December 1, and this year is set to include Southwell also in order to reach more people.

Organisers are hoping that 200 or more bikers will be taking part in this year’s event, which sets off from the Waggon and Horses in Bleasby at 11am.

The bikers will then aim to reach Station Road, Fiskerton at 11.06am, then King Street, Southwell at 11.15am. The cortege will then depart Church Street at 11.20am and get back to Fiskerton at 11.30am, before reaching Rolleston at 11.35am.

After another five minute pause, the bikers will leave Rolleston at 11.40am and arrive at Averham at 11.45am, and will follow the A617 to Newark and arrive at the Salvation Army church in Balderton by 12noon.

Bikes and riders will be in seasonal dress, and donations of new toys for children aged between toddler and teenagers are invited.
