Nottinghamshire Young Farmers Clubs' Santa Tractor Run on the road to Southwell and villages




The annual young farmers' festive tractor run will be on the road next weekend.

Nottinghamshire Young Farmers Clubs' Santa Tractor Run will tour Southwell and surrounding villages this Saturday, between 5pm and 7.30pm.

Decorated tractors and trailers with lights, music and decorations will parade through the streets for the third year running after the event was started to spread cheer during the pandemic.

Timings for the tractor run are approximate, and the event can be tracked live on the night.

The route will start at in Morton at 5pm, turning left from cooks lane.

At 5.10pm it will travel along Rolleston Road and Main Street, Fiskerton.

The tractors will pass through Rolleston and Staythorpe at 5.15pm, on Fiskerton Road, Staythorpe Road, the A617 and Main Street.

They will then head to Upton, driving along Main Street, Southwell Road and Upton Road at 5.30pm.

It will arrive at Southwell at 5.45pm and will travel along Easthorpe, Church Street, Westgate, Westhorpe and Allenby Road.

At 6.05pm the tractors will visit Halam and Edingley, via Halam Road, Mansfield Road, Edingley Hill, Main Street and Southwell Road.

Next along the route is Main Street, Mansfield Road and the A614 in Farnsfield, at 6.15pm.

It will arrive in Oxton at 6.30pm, passing along Forest Road, Main Street, Nottingham Road and the A6097.

Next is Epperstone at 6.45pm, visiting Main Street, Lowdham Road and the A6097.

The tractors will then pass Lowdham Roundabout, Southwell Road and Station Road in Lowdham, at 7pm.

At 7.05pm the farmers will arrive in Caythorpe, passing along Caythorpe Road, Main Street and Hoveringham Road.

Hoveringham follows on the route, with the tractors driving along Boat Lane, Main Street and Thurgarton Lane at 7.15pm.

They will then travel to Thurgarton, along Station Road, Nottingham Road and Bleasby Road at 7.25pm.

The tractor run ends with Goverton and Bleasby, at 7.30pm, along Station Road and Main Street.

Crowds can gather along the route to watch the procession and cheer along the young farmers.

Last year over 60 tractors took part, visiting all 15 villages as well as Southwell.
