Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service attends bus fire near Southwell




A school bus was badly damaged in a blaze while taking pupils home from school yesterday (June 2).

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a large vehicle fire on Fiskerton Road, Brinkley, at 3.15pm.

Witnesses have described the vehicle as being a school bus travelling between Southwell and Bleasby, and that pupils were being evacuated from the bus by the driver.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Fire crews from Southwell and Newark attended the incident, in which the bus was seriously damaged by fire.

The road remained closed for some hours, with Nottinghamshire Police also in attendance at the scene.
