Fernwood secondary school shows support for Ukraine with blue and yellow day

Students and staff at a secondary school have come together in support of Ukraine.

More than £300 has been raised by The Suthers School at Fernwood, which has been supporting the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Appeal.

Miss Emma Wallace, head of languages, said: “In form time and in civics lessons over the past two weeks, pupils have been learning about the conflict in Ukraine and about the devastating impact it has had on millions of innocent men, women and children.

“Our student-led SAVE charity team wanted to do something to help.

“They arranged a wear blue and yellow day and a bake sale to raise funds.

“So far, we have raised over £300.”
