Sconce and Devon Park, Newark Castle and Gardens, London Road Cemetery and the Brackenhurst campus have retained their Green Flag status.
Several parks and open spaces in Newark and Sherwood have been recognised as some of the best in the world.
Sconce and Devon Park, Newark, Newark Castle and Gardens and the London Road Cemetery are among 1,970 UK parks to receive the coveted Green Flag status, which is the mark of a quality park or green space.
The Brackenhurst campus of Nottingham Trent University, Southwell, has also retained its Green Flag status along with Sherwood Heath, Ollerton, and Vicar Water Country Park, Clipstone.
Sconce and Devon Park, the castle, Sherwood Heath and Vicar Water are all managed by Newark and Sherwood District Council.
Roger Jackson, the council’s leisure and environment committee chairman, said: “We understand how important it is for our residents and visitors to be able to access quality green spaces and this award celebrates the dedication that goes into maintaining our parks to a high standard.
“Our Cleaner, Safer and Greener campaign certainly heightened awareness of our open spaces and we take great pride in our parks.
“The awards process provides us with independent assurance that we are continuing to provide high quality parks and open spaces.”
Charmaine Morrell, the sustainable development manager at Nottingham Trent University, said: “ We are tremendously proud of retaining the Green Flag, as it rewards the strategic commitment and hard work of Nottingham Trent University, to not only maintaining but improving our wonderful Brackenhurst estate.
“It gives that assurance of our stewardship in providing quality green spaces for the local community, our staff and students to enjoy.
“NTU is not only committed to providing green spaces, we are committed to sustainability in every way we can and are celebrating coming third in the People and Planet University league for the second year running and fifth in the global ranking, the UI Green Metric.
“We believe our commitment to sustainability ensures we are not only protecting the planet but providing a great student experience within our sustainable estate.”
