Art-lovers are being asked to be on the look-out for two sculptures stolen from Newark.

The bronze sculptures were taken from Trent Galleries in Chain Lane between 2.30 am and 3am on Saturday.

An offender used a brick to smash a window in the building, making off with the sculptures and damaging nearby paintings – including by an original work by Timmy Mallett.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious or who has been offered the sculptures for sale (pictured) or who knows anything about the theft is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101.

The incident number is 000173-15022014.
