Second day of strike action 'a success'
A union has hailed as a success the second day of strike action by civilian employees of Nottinghamshire Police.
Unison say hundreds of staff stayed away from work on Friday, many more than the 148 who joined the first of the two-day strikes on Tuesday of last week.
This is disputed by the force who say at 142, the number was less than Tuesday of last week and Friday's strike caused no major impact on the its ability to provide an effective service.
A work-to-rule by Unison staff remains in place.
Unison has more than 1,000 members among Nottinghamshire Police’s 1762 police staff.
The union is in dispute over the way the force is making people redundant and changes to pension augmentation.
Nottinghamshire Police has to save more than £42m over the next four years but has ambitions to become the best performing force in the country.
