Savills appointed to sell Prescott Shooting Ltd’s nationally-acclaimed Orston Shooting Ground
An iternationally-acclaimed shooting ground has been put up for sale.
Savills has been appointed by Prescott Sporting Ltd to market Orston Shooting Ground in Orston for an undisclosed amount.
Prescott Shooting bought the Orston Shooting Ground for previous £2m in 2016.
The site, which extends to approximately 21.4 hectares (53 acres), is landscaped with extensive earth bunds separating the various shooting stand areas, and includes clay pigeon shooting stands, an air rifle range and a simulated game arena and grouse butt. There is a modern, purpose-built clubhouse extending to approximately 2,940 sq ft (273 sq m) which provides a café, shop and office.
Savills say Orston Shooting Ground has a national reputation, benefiting from an exceptional array of clay and air rifle shooting facilities situated in an accessible but rural setting. The property has recently gained planning permission to develop a 24 lane full bore rifle range with 300m, 200m and 100m ranges which will enhance the offering at the club.
In addition to the current use, the property may have potential for development of additional leisure uses which a buyer may wish to explore.
Ian Simpson, director in the leisure and trade-related team at Savills, said: “Shooting grounds rarely come to the market and development of new sites is challenging due to planning and noise restrictions.
“The current owners have invested heavily in Orston Shooting Ground to provide an extensive and well-equipped business offering both large scale/multi discipline clay shooting facilities as well as existing and permitted rifle range accommodation.
“The extensive site also offers the opportunity to develop additional leisure facilities which will further enhance the reputation of Orston as one of the leading shooting grounds in the UK.”
The founders of Prescott Sporting Litd and owners of the property, Dan and Emily Martin, said: “We have recently acquired a new business venture closer to our family which means we are looking for new owners for Orston Shooting Ground.
“We have had seven fantastic years at Orston and will be very sad to leave behind the facility and ground we have grown, with many further opportunities on the horizon.
“With a tremendous team at the forefront of Orston, huge potential of its facility and a national reputation of producing quality events we are really looking forward to seeing who Orston’s next chapter will be with.”
