Shop break-in foiled
Three men were arrested following an attempt to break into the One-Stop Shop on Sleaford Road, Newark, at 12.20am today (Thursday).
It is believed a crowbar was used in an attempt to smash through the shop front to reach a cash machine.
Local residents called police after hearing the sound of breaking glass and some are said by detectives to have given chase.
The three men were arrested nearby and are currently at Newark Police Station awaiting interview.
Detectives from Newark CID are currently doing house-to-house inquiries in the vicinity of Sleaford Road, Lindum Street, Newstead Avenue and Welbeck Avenue.
One-Stop opened as normal today. A police cordon around the smashed windows was lifted at 9.30am.
