Two men caught shoplifting in an Asda store have been charged and banned from entering any shop in the county.
Police were alerted to the shoplifters by eagle-eyed staff at Asda in Ollerton.
The staff witnessed males filling their jackets with items from the toiletries aisle on Tuesday, January 17, and after quickly alerting police, tried to prevent the males from leaving the store with £750 worth of stolen goods.
The men ran off, but were followed by the Ollerton beat team in an unmarked car.
Sherwood Police said: "The males ran off but made the mistake of running back to their car which was in Asda car park in front off the Ollerton beat team who were in an unmarked police vehicle. They managed to get as far as Edwinstowe whilst being followed by the unmarked car.
"They seemed surprised to see the flashing lights of the marked police vehicle driven by rota two response officers, that appeared from nowhere."
One of the men tried to run but was apprehended by officers.

Both men, from Manchester, been charged with theft and have conditions not to enter any shop in Nottinghamshire.
