Ian Dagley, director of Hoval, has also been confirmed as a speaker.

He will explore the impact of changes in attitudes to the climate emergency, including COP26, in relation to the supply chain and the question of which future fuels to focus on to ensure businesses get the right strategy to suit their needs.

More speakers are due to be confirmed.

Keith Girling, district council deputy leader, said: “I am incredibly excited to host our first international logistics conference, From Global To Local. It’s the first of its kind in the area and will benefit Newark and Sherwood businesses and those throughout Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.

“Newark and Sherwood District Council is committed to finding ways to support our businesses. With our partners Lincoln College, the University of Lincoln and Nottingham Trent University, we hope the conference will provide our local businesses with invaluable information about the future of logistics and the supply chain to help them flourish.

“Anyone interested in attending the conference can book their place by getting in touch with us as soon as possible.”

Michael Carr, pro vice-chancellor of enterprise and knowledge exchange at Nottingham Trent University, said: “We are pleased to be able to support Newark and Sherwood District Council to bring this international conference to the area.

“Logistics is an industry of growing significance to the East Midlands and the conference will stimulate important dialogue between industry leaders, the local authority and university academics to drive innovation locally.
