Cyclists sought for community ride as part of Newark town centre races
Families are being encouraged to join in the fun at this Friday's Newark town centre cycle races.
Entries are closed for the races but people still have a chance to get involved in the prestigious event.
Organisers of the event are inviting young families to take part in a community ride ahead of the elite racing.
"We want to inspire the next generation into cycling," said event organiser Chris Lawrence.
"They will get to experience the event in a relaxed environment."
The community ride will be run on the closed 1.1km circuit for children and their families to experience the excitement of the course in safe conditions.
The community ride will begin at 4 pm on the day of the races after Newark and Sherwood District Council chairman Sue Saddington gives a short speech and cuts a ceremonial ribbon at the start line.
Anyone interested in joining the community ride should fill in the form on the link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdO0ePufqudI9BgcvH2aIOXICj6Eb_H2FvIPeMXKY3Qrv3T5w/viewform
Those who join the community ride will meet on Market Square, outside GH Porter.
