Nottinghamshire Police launches investigation into 3-vehicle crash near White Post Farm at Farnsfield
A single mother of two is appealing for information after a driver left the scene of a crash involving three vehicles.
Nottinghamshire Police is investigating the collision that took place around 5.15pm on Tuesday (April 9) on the A614, near White Post Farm, Farnsfield.
Two cars heading southbound were waiting in traffic at a roundabout when a van reportedly collided with the back of them.
The driver of the van reportedly then got out, removed the vehicle’s registration plates, and drove from the scene.
No-one was injured, although one of the cars sustained damage.
Charlotte Skelton, who was one of the drivers involved, said the small white van had ladders on the roof and blacked-out rear windows.
She described the driver as a white man around the age of 50 to 60, with tanned skin and close-shaved hair.
He was also wearing a red, horizontally striped top and was said to have ‘noticeably missing teeth’.
She added: “Unfortunately, because the driver removed his plates and left the scene, I am now liable for the damage under uninsured driver terms unless footage or a witness can help identify the van.
“I am a full-time hard working single mother of two children with additional needs and this is truly the straw that could break this camel’s back.
“There’s no way I can afford my excess bill and afford to lose my nine years no claims bonus — which will happen if we cannot at least provide the insurer with a make model and licence plate of the van.
“If anyone has dash cam footage or saw anything that could help, please get in touch. Any assistance would be hugely appreciated.”
Anyone with information, including dash-cam footage, is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 542 of 9 April 2025.
