Soak up first signs of spring with start of National Garden Scheme at Sutton-on-Trent
With signs of spring starting to bloom, the National Garden Scheme gets under way this weekend with snowdrop displays.
Masses of snowdrops can be seen during an open garden at 60 High Street, Sutton-on-Trent, on Sunday, from 10.30am to 4pm.
It is a mature half-acre garden on the site of a Victorian flower nursery, now a series of well planted areas, each with its own character.
It will feature more than 400 varieties of snowdrop in early spring.
It is a dog-friendly venue and there will be plants for sale and refreshments.
Also available to visit, by appointment only, is Bolham Manor, Retford, featuring thousands of snowdrops, narcissus and early bulbs.
Phone Pam on 07790 896022 or email pamandbutch@hotmail.com to make an appointment.
The National Garden Scheme runs open gardens to raise money for UK nursing and health charities through admissions, teas and cake.
