Lowdham Horticultural Society annual Spring Show hits success with over 200 entries
A horticultural society had more than 200 entries, from spring flowers to floral art, at its annual spring show.
Lowdham Horticultural Society held its spring show earlier this month at Lowdham Village Hall.
The hall was filled with colour and floral scents, including spring flowers, shrubs, pot plants, floral art and children’s handicrafts.
Visitors were also able to enjoy an art display by the Lowdham Painting for Pleasure Group and flower arrangements created by Lowdham Flower Guild on the theme of ‘Accessories in Bloom’.
Trophy winners include Geoff Burton, who won the Don Bloomfield Trophy for highest number of points in the show.
Christine Baggaley won the Fred Pole Plate for winning the three long cupped daffodils class.
The Arnold Watson Memorial Cup was given to Arya Ochrombel for getting the highest number of points in the young people classes.
Anne Cross won the Keith Fretwell Memorial Trophy for her three tulips of one variety.
And Rachel Corden received the Whitworth Trophy for her best in show exhibiti of three multiheaded daffodils.
The society’s summer show will take place on August 25, which marks the society’s 132nd anniversary.
People are invited to go along and experience an afternoon of family fun and competitions.
Those interested in joining the Lowdham Horticultural Society can do so for an annual fee of £10.
