A-levels 2024: South Nottinghamshire Academy students achieve “outstanding” results
Sixth form students at South Nottinghamshire Academy, part of the Redhill Academy Trust, has reported “outstanding” results in their A-levels and other examination qualifications this summer.
Anna Cox, Head of Sixth Form, said: “Students and staff have worked extremely hard to secure some of the Academy’s most outstanding results - it is so pleasing to see students gain their places at prestigious universities or progress to their destination of choice in employment or training.”
Among the high-flying students were Lucy Barker, who secured A*AA grades in fine art, English language, and geography and will be studying Geography at the University of Edinburgh.
Sam Callender gained Distinction*AB in IT, media, and business, and is now heading off to the University of Sheffield to study business management.
Also going to the University of Sheffield to study business management is Sam Mills, who also achieved Distinction*AB in IT, media, and business.
Sam Philpotts achieved AAB grades in business, media, and English language, and will be studying business management at the University of Nottingham.
Will Giles scored Distinction*AB in IT, fine art and geography and is heading to Aston University to study computer science.
Libby White will be studying mechanical engineering at the University of Sheffield after securing AAB in chemistry, maths, and physics.
Executive head Dan Philpotts has said that the academy is “immensely proud” of their sixth form students:
“Their resilience and commitment have shone through and we can now celebrate their success,” he said, “We’d also like to recognise SNA staff who have worked tirelessly to ensure that students progress onto further education and employment with universities as far reaching as Edinburgh to Cardiff.
“Well done to everyone – your success is well deserved.”
