Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue are currently attending a serious road traffic collision near Hoveringham.




There has been a serious road traffic collision involving two cars near Hoveringham, and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

The Southwell Road / Nottingham Road road is closed both ways from Main Street to Gonalston Lane, affecting traffic heading between Lowdham and Southwell.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue are currently at the scene, with crews from Carlton and London Road attending.

Nottinghamshire Police anticipate that the road will be closed throughout the afternoon, and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible while fire crews deal with this incident.

Buses are also affected, and Nottingham City Transport are diverting all journeys on Pathfinder 100 via Oxton.

A spokesman said: "We cannot currently serve Thurgarton village, NTU Brackenhurst or Southwell Leisure Centre. For Lowdham village, please use Brakes Farm."
