Southwell Show cancelled due to health and safety concerns
Southwell Ploughing Match and Show has been cancelled due to the heavy rain forecast for this weekend.
The show had been due to take place in Kirklington, on Saturday.
The show has been cancelled because heavy rain would make the carpark unsafe for public use.
A statement on the show's website said: "The show site has become waterlogged and, with considerably more rain scheduled for the next 24 hours, it has been necessary to cancel on the basis that we cannot be sure of the safety of our volunteers and visitors.
"Clearly, this decision has not been taken lightly.
"We are very sorry as we are aware of the huge amount of work and input from everyone involved from stall holders, competitors to committee members."
The statement said all ticket holders would be refunded but asked customers to allow them a few weeks to process them.
In the past, the event has attracted up to 10,000 people.
It is the largest agricultural one-day show in the county.
The road closure planned for Eakring Road, Kirklington, has been lifted.
