Southwell Racecourse held their first meet under floodlights.
The new high-tech lighting system is a first for any racetrack in Europe - and possibly the world.
Similar LED systems are already in use at Twickenham rugby stadium and five Premiership football clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers, but in the UK Southwell were the first racetrack to introduce this kind of lighting.
The first race took place at 5.55pm on March 14, with the last race of the evening at 8.30pm.
The official launch of floodlit racing will take place on March 30, with free grandstand tickets available for readers who quote the code LIGHTS19 when booking.
