Sherwood Police confirm two males were arrested after a break in at Oxton, Southwell




Two males were arrested at 2am after reports of a break in.

The incident followed a report of suspicious males in Farnsfield, who were allegedly looking to break into a property.

Officers attended the reported area and commenced a search.

A short while after, another member of the public reported a break in at Oxton, and officers were at the scene within nine minutes.

A spokesman from Sherwood Police said: "The Real Time Intelligence Unit were on the ball following some leads, and advanced pursuit drivers located the vehicle.

"The Pursuit Commander in the control room managed [to] follow, and a stinger (spike strip) was deployed.

"The two males were arrested.

"The CID teams are now cracking on with the investigation.

"This is what happens when we all work together and the public support us.

"We are in the early stages of the investigation and will release more details when we can."

UPDATE: Two men have been arrested in connection with a burglary at Oxton Post Office in the early hours of yesterday morning.
