Littlegates for Little People nursery, Dry Doddington, visited J&J Alpacas as part of spring topic

Children got to learn first hand about life growing and changing as part of their spring preschool topic.

Preschool children at Littlegates for Little People nursery, in Dry Doddington, visited J&J Alpacas down the road from their nursery to see newborn lambs and the farm’s every-growing herd of alpacas.

The children were able to meet the baby lambs and stroke them, as well as popping in to see the young alpacas in their pen.

They got up close and personal with seven-month-old alpaca Otis, who is off to the National Alpaca Show at the Telford International Centre in Shropshire at the end of this month.

They then visited the farm’s café and each chose an alpaca-shaped biscuit.

Heidi Moulds, preschool teacher, said: “We came to teach them about animals as part of their springtime and growing topic.

“It is all about supporting a local business too and the children loved coming to see the animals.”
