Newark & Sherwood United face Hucknall Town in the 24/25 Notts Senior Cup Final, held at Mansfield Town FC’s One Call Stadium, on Tuesday and the Highwaymen are offering a ‘Pay it Forward’ scheme
Families wanting to support the town’s footballers but who are worried about the price are being given a helping hand thanks to Newark’s Highwaymen.
Newark & Sherwood United face Hucknall Town in the 24/25 Notts Senior Cup Final, held at Mansfield Town FC’s One Call Stadium, on Tuesday (May 6), a huge night for the club as this is one of the first times in recent years that a Newark club has played at a professional stadium.
In order to ensure plenty of support, and that no-one is priced our of attending the game, the Highwaymen are now offering a ‘Pay it Forward’ scheme for the cup final.
Individuals or businesses can purchase tickets which will then be available for just £1 for under 18s, instead of their usual £5, to enable local children to go to the match without families having to spend a lot of money.
“It could turn it into an expensive day out for families — we don’t want the price to stop any kids in Newark & Sherwood from attending the Cup Final, especially with it being the first time in recent history that a Newark club has played at a professional ground,” said Jed Wright, Newark and Sherwood United’s operations director.
Local businesses who purchase tickets will be given a shout out on social media as a thank you.
