Staythorpe protest continues

Workers at Staythorpe Power Station were today continuing to protest over health and safety concerns.
A protest was held outside the gates of the power station this morning. It follows allegations that an unqualified worker who tampered with scaffolding was allowed to return to work.
Police were at the scene of the protest.
A spokesman for Alstom said: "Allegations that health and safety has been compromised on the site have been investigated by a panel of employees, subcontractors, union and health and safety representatives. The panel confirmed that the correct health and safety procedures had been reinforced and were in place."
