Steampunk market and torch-lit procession comes to Newark Market Place




Dozens of Steampunk enthusiasts will be descending on Newark as part of this weekend's festive markets.

A highlight of the weekend will be a visually spectacular parade of Steampunkers through the town on Sunday.

The festive offering begins tomorrow (Saturday) when there will be a Christmas market.

On Sunday, there will be a Steampunk and Dickensian Christmas Market, also featuring Morris dancers.

The event starts at 2pm and continues until 7.30pm.

It will feature a torch-lit parade by the steampunkers in their fantastic costumes at 6pm.

The procession will begin on Kirkgate, pass the church and around the Market Place.
