Stolen bank card used
Police are appealing for anyone who saw someone acting suspiciously at a cashpoint in Tuxford to contact them.
The plea comes after a woman’s handbag was stolen in Newark.
The woman was in Market Square on Monday, December 13, when her handbag was stolen from a market stall at around 3.15pm.
Between 4.05pm and 4.15pm the same day, the woman’s bankcard was used a number of times at the cashpoint outside the G & D Papershop in Market Street, Tuxford, when a quantity of cash was stolen from her account.
Pc Anthea Brotheridge, who is investigating the theft, said: “This is a really busy cashpoint and if the offenders were there for up to ten minutes, there is a strong likelihood that someone will have been waiting behind them.
“We want to hear from anyone who saw someone acting suspiciously at the cashpoint, or who saw a vehicle waiting nearby.”
