Two people offered to replace a bike belonging to the brother of an eight-month-old boy who needs a bone-marrow transplant, after it was stolen last week.

But the stolen bike has now been returned to the family after being recovered by the police.

The Advertiser reported last week that the family could not afford to replace the bike belonging Morgan (8) because they are saving for when Morgan’s half-brother Jacob Giles, of Lowfield Lane, Balderton, goes to London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital for treatment.

A bike belonging to Mr David Giles, Jacob’s father, was also stolen and was also returned by the police on Friday evening.

The bikes were recovered by Newark policeman Pc Simon Brooks before they had even been reported stolen.
