Plans to replace High Marnham substation are being shown to the public today at an information event organised by National Grid.

The event takes place between 1pm and 8pm at Low Marnham Village Hall.

The existing substation is coming to the end of its life and needs replacing.

A small number of overhead electricity lines and pylons will also need to be moved.

National Grid would like to hear people's views before it submits a planning application to Bassetlaw District Council this summer.

Project manager Andrew Connolly said: “We are working with our partners to ensure there will be minimal disruption on this important project, which will maintain the quality and security of electricity supplies for now and future generations."
