Cast and Found jewellery business in Newark-area village showcased in a seven-page feature in Country Living magazine

A jewellery maker has spoken of her pride in having her work featured in an upmarket magazine.

Jessica Collin is the owner and brains behind ‘Cast and Found’ and has just seen her business, operated from her Newark-area village, showcased in a seven-page feature in the popular national magazine Country Living.

“The rural business feature is really positive for my small business,” Jessica said, “Response has been really great, with lots of new nature loving customers discovering me for the first time. Such a positive start to 2025 for a small local maker.”

The shoot itself, Jessica said, lasted nine hours and saw the Country Living team take more than 2,000 photos, narrowed down to just 20 for print, and her husband Tim, son Heath, and Golden retriever Arnold all got involved too.

Cast and Found offers a wide range of gold and silver jewellery all cast and created from nature, with Jessica collecting various flora and fauna to draw inspiration from for her designs.

Just some of the nature-inspired designs include necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings drawn from a wide variety of leaves, acorns, as well as twigs, snowdrops, lily of the valley, vines, and other wildflowers.

She also offers poignant ashes capsule pendants to hold the remains of loved ones, with one in the shape of a robin as a nod to her late father, who loved the red-breasted birds.

Jessica said that she has always loved nature, and her mother would encourage her to collect for the nature table:

“Maybe that’s where it started, when I became a curator of nature, always making, always gathering,” she said, “A love of nature and a passion for jewellery seems to be in my soul.”

Jessica even crafted her and Tim’s wedding rings from found bark and twigs from their woodland, which she said was “just the most natural, beautiful process”.

“Through Cast & Found I hope to capture the emotions of connection and belonging in our forever rings and other jewellery, and enable others to treasure their own stories in a similar way,” she added.

Every month Jessica also shares a story treasured by a piece of jewellery, with examples including a bereaved mum with a pendant containing DNA from the baby she lost in an ectopic pregnancy and another containing some of the customers’ father’s ashes.
