Morrisons, which has a store on Kings Road, Newark, launches new Food Boxes range to help those who cannot get to a store during the coronavirus pandemic

A major supermarket has launched a new Food Boxes range to help those not able to get out and do a shop during the coronavirus pandemic.

Morrisons, which has a store on Kings Road, Newark, is offering a variety of boxes with meat or vegetarian groceries at a fixed price that will be delivered straight to your door.

The boxes also include household items and there is a separate option for boxes of hand-finished prepared meals — typically enough to feed two adults for a week.

To get started, all you need to do is create an account on the Morrisons website by entering your name, email address and a password.

Or, if you already have a Morrisons online account, you can use your existing details using the ‘log-in’ button.

You'll then need to choose what box you would like, and you can you can do this by searching through the options on the 'Our Boxes' page. Once you've chosen, you can select a delivery date that suits you and, if available, Morrisons can deliver boxes the next day if ordered before 3pm.

Vegetarian food box may include:

• Canned baked beans, soup and pasta sauce

• Milk

• Dairy products such as butter and cheese

• Bread

• Rice and pasta

• Vegetables, such as potatoes, carrots and onions

• Vegetarian proteins

• Essential household items

Meat eaters food box may include:

• Canned baked beans, soup and pasta sauce

• Milk

• Dairy products such as butter and cheese

• Bread

• Rice and pasta

• Meat products, such as sausage, bacon and cooked meat

• Vegetables, such as potatoes, carrots and onions

• Fresh meat such as chicken or beef

• Essential household items

Market Kitchen Square Meals boxes contain eight complete main meals for you to heat up.

These include two adult portions of the following dishes:

• Shepherd's pie

• Minced British lamb slowly cooked in red wine for tenderness and flavour, topped with fluffy, cheesy mash

• Sausage and mash

• Succulent British Cumberland pork sausages with creamy mash and a sweet caramelised onion gravy

• Chicken and tomato pasta bake

• Tender British chicken breast cooked in a rich tomato and basil passata, topped with a sprinkling of parmesan

• Cauliflower mac 'n' cheese

• A mix of macaroni and cauliflower florets served with a smooth, creamy cheese sauce

• All meals are suitable for home freezing

Market Kitchen Meal Maker boxes contain eight main meals for you to heat, simply add your own rice, pasta or potatoes to complete the meal.

These include two adult portions of the following dishes:

• Chicken tikka — Tender pieces of British chicken in a tikka spiced sauce, seasoned with a hint of cumin and ginger

• Keralan style vegetable curry — Sweet potato, cauliflower and spinach blended with coconut and seasoned with a touch of cardamom

• Chilli beef — Rich, smoky chipotle British beef with red kidney beans, seasoned with a blend of cumin and coriander

• Vegetable chilli — A medley of sweet potato, chickpeas and kidney beans, cooked with a cumin, cinnamon and chilli spice blend

• All meals are suitable for home freezing

Family Meat boxes contain a selection of fresh meat packs, such as chicken, beef and pork.

These will include the following items, or comparable products of the same value:

• 1 x 750g unsmoked gammon joint

• 1 x 750g beef roasting joint

• 1 x 1kg pack chicken breast fillets

• 1 x 4 pack The Best Scotch Beef Quarter Pounders (454g)

• 1 x 25 pack British beef meatballs (645g)

• 1 x 10 pack The Best Gluten Free Pork Sausages (600g)

• 1 x 500g pack 12% fat British minced beef

• 1 x 500g pack British pork loin steaks

• 1 x twin pack sirloin steaks (400g)

You’ll also receive two of the following sauces in your box:

• Peppercorn sauce (200g)

• Diane sauce (200g)

• Chicken gravy (300g)

The image of the family meat box on the Morrisons website includes Yorkshire Puddings which is not included in the box.

The Food Boxes range contain a selection of items based on current availability of products, and therefore Morrisons is unable to specify the exact contents of each box. There will be a variety of different foods in each box.
