Support for Palace Theatre

Most people who responded to a consultation over next year's district budget did not want Newark's Palace Theatre to close, but thought fewer markets could be held in the future.
Only 29% of residents who responded to Newark and Sherwood District Council's consultation thought it should consider closing the theatre.
Nearly 60% thought the council should consider holding fewer markets. A number of respondents criticised the new lightweight market stalls and their clearance.
