A car was later tracked to an address in the Newark area and two men, aged 36 and 31, were arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Inspector Charlotte Ellam, District Commander for Newark and Sherwood, said: “This was a fast-paced investigation that led officers to suspects at a property more than half an hour away from the scene of the crime.

“Several pieces of evidence have been recovered and our investigation is ongoing.”
