Town centre re-opened

A suspicious package located in Bingham Town centre has been recovered by police and an investigation to identify the contents of the package has begun.

The package was placed at the junction of Union Street and Market Street and has been taken by Nottinghamshire Police.

Bomb disposal experts, fire crews and ambulance crews were at the scene last night (Friday 12) before reopening Bingham Town centre at 9:50pm.

The town centre was cordoned off for nearly five hours as police arrived at the scene around 5pm.
