Teenager in hospital after crash on A1 south of Newark




A teenager has been taken to hospital after being involved in a crash on the A1.

Lincolnshire Police were called to an incident A1 southbound at 3.07pm this afternoon.

Traffic has been backing up for several miles on the A1 at Gratham following the collision near to the A607 junction.

The incident involved one car and one male teenager was taken to Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, with potentially serious injuries.

According to Highways England, a diversion has been set up, taking traffic off the A607 turn-off and across to Melton Mowbray, then on to the A606 to Empingham and back on to the A1.
