An auction of a huge county estate saw properties sell for up to £200,000 over asking price.
The ten-acre Thurgarton Estate went under the hammer at Thurgarton Village Hall, with ten desirable plots up for grabs.

The three-bedroom detached estate cottage, set in 0.44 of an acre with countryside views, sold for £500,000 — £200,000 over asking price — despite requiring renovations.
Former dog kennels on the estate sold for £342,000, well over the guide price of £150,000 and a plot of 1.65 acres sold for £234,000, over the guide price of £130,000.

Most of the buyers were in attendance including the bidder of the main property at the heart of the estate, Hill Farmhouse, a large early 19th century property set in 10 acres and with 10 bedrooms, in need of renovation.
This sold for its guide price of £800,000.
Ian Walter, auctioneer, who presided over the sale said: “All the action was in the room, not on the internet.”
Other highlights of the auction included, Checkers Farmyard, sold for £685,000 in room, over the guide price of £675,000 and Victorian property Checkers Farmhouse, sold in room for £405,000, over the guide price of £400,000.
Another plot of around 4.44 acres sold for £134,000, over the guide price of £65,000.
