The church of Saint Nicholas, Hockerton. Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham
The Church Commissioners have prepared
a draft Pastoral Church Buildings Scheme
providing for, inter alia, the parish church of
Saint Nicholas, Hockerton to be declared
closed for regular public worship and
appropriated to use as a glass studio, for
educational purposes and for community
and cultural purposes and for purposes
ancillary thereto.
You may obtain a copy of the draft Scheme
from the Church Commissioners’ office in
Church House, Great Smith Street, London
SW1P 3AZ, see it on our website at www.
ccpastoral.org/consultation or it may be
inspected at any of the parish churches,
chapels of ease and licenced places of
worship in the affected parishes. A dropin
session will take place on Friday 19
February 2016 at the church of St Nicholas,
Church Lane, Hockerton, Southwell NG25
0PP between 3.30pm and 7pm. Members of
the Commissioners’ and the Diocese’s staff
and the potential purchaser will be available
to discuss any issues or concerns about the
future of the building and the churchyard.
Anyone may make representations either for
or against all or any part of the draft Scheme

not later than midnight on 21 March 2016.
