It was a fantastic turnout for Wednesday's annual Beaumond House Sunflower Run for Fun which took place in glorious sunshine.
Many of those who took part had personal connections to the Newark hospice either directly or through loved ones.
There was a party atmosphere at Newark Showground at an event that was for some touched by sadness, but all involved entered into the swing of what is the biggest participation event in the hospice's fundraising calendar.
The runners and walkers had the option of completing a 5 or 10k course.
£3,000 had been raised prior to the starting gun with the organisers hoping much, much more will be generated through the sponsorship collected by those taking part.
