Nottinghamshire Police confirm three men arrested following report of a disturbance in One Stop, on Bowbridge Road, Newark




Three men have been arrested following a report of a disturbance in a Newark shop yesterday (Monday, March 16).

It was reported that a man ran into the One Stop shop on Bowbridge Road after being chased by a group of men, one of whom had a gun.

One of these men then entered the store before a member of staff called the police. He left a short time later, making off in a car with other men.

No-one was hurt during the incident which happened just before 6.20pm.

Police swiftly responded to the report and spotted a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident.

After it came to a stop officers arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.

Following further enquiries two other men, aged 33 and 23, were arrested at an address in Newark on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

A police helicopter assisted with searches following the report.

All three men remain in police custody.
