Newark town centre hit by Nottinghamshire Police's Operation Guardian, with three residents found to in possession of drugs
Three individuals were found to be in possession of drugs after a drugs operation took place in Newark town centre last night (Saturday, November 16).
Sixteen people were searched by officers from Nottinghamshire Police as part of Operation Guardian.
A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said: "A police dog, Storm, and his handler PC Marston supported Newark Neighbourhood Policing team, along with a number of response officers from Nottinghamshire Police, working on Op Guardian in Newark town centre last night.
"The operation is designed to tackle drugs and associated violence in the night time economy.
"The operation was a success with 16 people being stop and searched and three individuals were found to be in possession of drugs."
