Timing an issue at traffic lights

It is hoped timing issues with a set of traffic lights can be resolved in the coming weeks.

The lights at the top of High Street, Edwinstowe, are said to be causing problems for both drivers and pedestrians.

The MP for Sherwood, Mr Mark Spencer, raised the issue with Via, the company that manages highways on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council.

Mr Spencer met Via representatives at the site.

The action followed a meeting between Mr Spencer and parish councillor Mr Michael Brown, also about the issue.

Mr Spencer said: “As with most problems like this there is an obvious solution, which is to adjust the timings on the lights and make sure that traffic has enough time and is safe when turning.”

Mr Brown said: “I am hopeful that over the course of the next few weeks the timings will be improved.”
