A pub is toasting its success after receiving an achievement award for 14 consecutive appearances in the Good Beer Guide.

Licensees Chris Russon and Barbara Acres received their certificate from the Good Beer Guide’s Steve Bourne at a presentation evening at their pub, the Queen’s Hotel, East Markham.

The 14 years of consecutive appearances in the guide is a rare achievement.

The Queen’s Hotel is believed to be the only pub in Nottinghamshire with such an impressive run.

The Good Beer Guide is published annually by the Campaign For Real Ale, listing the best cask ale outlets in the UK.

Mr Russon, licensee at the Everards pub, said: “It’s wonderful to be recognised for providing good quality beer by a publication renowned for highlighting the best of real ale pubs.

“We feel proud to have made 14 consecutive appearances and hope to continue appearing in the guide for many more years in the future.”

Mr Matt Crehan, Everards business development manager, said: “The award is a great way to recognise Chris and Barbara’s passion for real ale and maintaining standards of the highest quality at the Queen’s Hotel.”
