The A1 Northbound has been closed north of Newark, Nottinghamshire with access to Carlton-on-Trent, Weston, Tuxford, Elkesley, and Markham Moor being affected due to Storm Babet




A major road has been closed due to flooding caused by Storm Babet.

The A1 Northbound is closed from North Muskham up to Upper Morton.

The closure means that the towns of Carlton-on-Trent, Weston, Tuxford, Elkesley, and Markham Moor cannot be reached on this route.

The road is blocked due to flooding on A1 both ways from B6325 Great North Road to A57 Cliff Gate (Markham / Walesby Junction).

Reports are that the closure has been extended.

There are also reports of delays of around 15 minutes on the A616 Ollerton Road Westbound between A616 and A614 Blyth Road, near Ollerton.

Average speeds have dropped to ten mph.
