Tractor, baler and 2,000 sqm of stubble 'destroyed' in Coddington farm fire




A tractor, baler and 2,000 sqm of land were 'destroyed' in a agricultural fire on Tuesday.

Nottinghamshire fire crews were called to the incident on Balderton Lane, Coddington at 3.18pm yesterday.

The fire was dealt with by 4.28pm after crews from Newark and Collingham battled the flames with three hose reels and breathing apparatus.

It is believed the cause of the fire was due to a tractor overheating.

The flames spread to vegetation and engulfed three bales, 2,000 sqm of stubble, a tractor and a baler.
