Trains through Lincolnshire face delays after person hit by a train

Trains through Lincolnshire are facing delays this morning after a person was hit by a train.

The incident occurred between London and Cambridge and Peterborough and is impacting routes including those from Newark through to Grantham.

East Midlands Railways has confirmed that while emergency services are carrying out work, their northbound lines are currently closed, while one southbound line is open but at a reduced speed.

Trains may be delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised entirely, and a commuter has contacted LincsOnline to say this includes trains to and from Grantham.

Travellers are advised to check their trainline’s website for further details.

Some tickets may be used on alternative services, such as LNER, for no extra cost.

Disruption is expected to last until 3pm.
